As much as we’d like to hop on the next plane to Germany for the outrageous festivities that go on through the entire month of October, we know that’s probably not possible for the middle of the work week. Berlin, a.k.a.  America’s Coolest Small Town, is hosting its annual Octoberfest this weekend and you’re sure to feel like you’re right in the middle of Munich holding a stein of cold beer.

This Saturday at noon Main Street will be shut down and taken over by awesome bands, delicious food vendors, and a rockin’ beer garden hosted by the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and overflowing with local craft beers from one of our favorites, Burley Oak. And it’s not just regular food or beer; the vendors are working hard to offer authentic German foods and beer. Some of these delicious foods offered will be homemade pretzels, bratwurst, sauerkraut, strudel and other staple German foods. Expect to see Eastern Shore Kettle Corn, Seashell Sweets, and other local favorites. #nomnomnom

In addition to the delicious treats, there will be live music emceed by Schwab and Big Al Reno, CowPolkas and other popular, local DJ’s. The layout for this year’s event is new, with the stage to be set up in front of the Atlantic Hotel s that it faces the coolberlin.org webcam!

There will be a best dressed contest so make sure to come in your Bavarian wear! “This is just a great family fun event, we have giveaways and so much more,” said Meghan Houston, Main Street Coordinator. “Now, since we are named America’s Coolest Small Town, the event is even cooler!” Along with the multiple vendors, there will be a sidewalk sale featuring local businesses from 10AM to 5PM.

Along with all the fall inspired festivities, the Burley Inn Tavern is hosting a corn hole tournament, with the 1st and 2nd place winner’s given a chance to win two big gift baskets with fun goodies (Must be 21 to enter, $20 to compete).

The fun doesn’t end at 4PM either; Burley Oak Brewery is having an Octoberfest After Party with live music from Jordan Sokel from Pressing Strings. This also happens to fall on the same night as their Kickstarter Wrap Party so it’s sure to be one heck of a night in Berlin.
